Cleanroom Facilities
FixmyData has in-house cleanroom facilities at every service location. Some recovery companies heavily promote their "Class 100" cleanrooms—we have them too. The real measure of cleanliness is to measure airborne particulates in the production environment, and that is what we do. We are confident that in the production state we are fully compliant with Class 100 (ISO-14644-1 Class 5) and very close to Class 10 standards, with an average of 17 particles of 0.5 µm per cubic foot.Equipment inside the cleanroom is designed to generate minimal air pollution. Cleanroom furniture is designed to produce few particles and is easy to clean. Common materials such as paper, pencils, and fabrics made from natural fibers are generally not permitted, and alternatives are used. Cleanrooms are not sterile (i.e., free of uncontrolled microorganisms); only airborne particles are controlled. Particulate levels are tested using particle counters.
Class 100 cleanrooms are kept at a positive pressure so that if there are any leaks, air leaks out of the room instead of unfiltered air entering the room. Our cleanroom HVAC system maintains humidity at a low level, so additional equipment ("ionizers") is needed to prevent electrostatic discharge problems.
The cleanroom maintains particle-free air by using ULPA filters that employ laminar airflow principles. Laminar, or unidirectional, airflow systems direct filtered air downward in a continuous stream towards filters located in the walls near the cleanroom floor.
